Hanoi - Hoa Lu and Trang An - Hanoi (B, D)

Day 2 of 10

Drive to Hoa Lu, capital under the Dinh and Le Dynasties; visit the Dinh and Le Temples. Afternoon three-hour sampan ride at Trang An. Return to Hanoi.

Hanoi - Sapa by Shuttle Limousine - PM Cat Cat Village (B, D)

Day 3 of 10

Pick-up 06:45-07:00 by shuttle limousine to Sapa, arriving around 12:15. At 14:00 trek to Cat Cat village and Y Linh Ho village (Black Hmong) through Hoang Lien National Park terraced fields.

08:00 to the Fansipan cable car; reach 2,800m and the peak of Fansipan, the Roof of Indochina. 11:30 return to Sapa town. 14:00-14:15 shuttle limousine back to Hanoi, arriving around 20:00.

08:00 to My Tho; boat on the Mekong River past the four islands and Rach Mieu Bridge. On Thoi Son (Unicorn Island) enjoy honey tea; on An Hoa Island a coconut candy workshop, horse-carriage ride, tropical fruit, traditional music and a sampan canal ride. Stop at Vinh Trang Pagoda on the way back. Return around 17:00.
