What type of vehicles used for the tours
We run modern, air-conditioned cars, minibuses and coaches across all our tours in Vietnam. Every vehicle carries a cooler with chilled drinking water, and our drivers are selected for safe driving and strong local road knowledge. As a working rule, we assign a vehicle one size larger than the group needs, so your clients always travel with room to spare.
One important note before the numbers: on smaller vehicles, the local guide always sits in the front passenger seat. So the real question is never “how many seats”, it is “how many guests plus luggage plus guide”. The table below answers exactly that.
Capacity by Vehicle Type
4-seater sedan (Toyota Vios / Altis class)
For 1 to 2 guests with luggage. Guide sits up front, guests in the rear, and the boot takes 1 to 2 large bags maximum. Our standard car for couples, solo travelers and airport transfers.
7-seater MPV / SUV (Toyota Innova / Fortuner class)
For 2 to 3 guests with luggage. The last row of seats is normally folded down for bags. A comfortable choice for couples with extra luggage or a small family.
9-seater van
For 5 to 6 guests with luggage when a guide travels along. Honest note: this van gets tight with large Indian suitcases, so if your group packs heavy, we recommend the 16-seater instead.
16-seater minivan (Ford Transit class)
Our most flexible vehicle, ideal for 4 to 8 guests with full luggage. Overhead racks plus rear storage. This is the workhorse for family groups, and we also use it as the support vehicle on cycling tours.
29-seater coach (Hyundai County class)
For 9 to 15 guests with luggage. Undercarriage storage, with the guide seated next to the driver.
35-seater coach
For 16 to 22 guests with luggage. A good fit for large family groups and wedding parties.
45-seater coach
For 23 to 40 guests with luggage. The largest storage in our fleet, with room for both a local guide and your accompanying tour leader.
Luggage Baseline
Plan on this allowance per adult traveler:
- One large check-in bag, around 76×48 cm (the 78x50x30 cm size, roughly 32 kg, is the most common with Indian groups)
- One cabin bag, 55x40x20 cm, around 7 kg
For sedans and MPVs, the safe working rule is one large suitcase per occupied seat.
If the Group Exceeds the Baggage Allowance
If clients travel with more than the baseline allowance, we reserve the right to add a second van or a luggage truck at a supplement. This charge is settled by the booking agency or directly by the clients. We do this for one reason only: nobody enjoys a 4-hour drive with a suitcase on their lap.

What is the maximum weight for check-in luggage with domestic flights?
BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE GUIDE: VIETNAM’S DOMESTIC AIRLINES
Flying within Vietnam? Each airline has its own baggage rules, and they are not the same. Here is a clear summary of what you can bring on board with Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Bamboo Airways and Vietjet Air. Please read this before you pack.
1. VIETNAM AIRLINES
Hand baggage
Your hand baggage includes your main bag(s) plus one small accessory, such as a handbag or laptop bag. The limits are:
- Economy class: total weight must not exceed 12kg/26lbs, including one main bag and one accessory.
- Premium Economy and Business class: total weight must not exceed 18kg, including two main pieces (no more than 10kg each) and one accessory.
- Size of each main bag: maximum 115cm total (56cm x 36cm x 23cm). Accessories must not exceed 40cm x 30cm x 15cm.
Checked baggage
- Economy class: one piece up to 23kg/50lb. Premium Economy and Business class: one piece up to 32kg/70lb on domestic routes.
- Each piece must not exceed 158cm/62in in total dimensions (width + height + depth).
- One important note: Economy Super Lite tickets on some routes do not include free checked baggage. International allowances also vary by route, so always check your e-ticket.
If your bag is over the limit, you will be asked to repack, pay an excess baggage fee, or send it as cargo.
2. PACIFIC AIRLINES
Pacific Airlines is part of the Vietnam Airlines Group, and from 5 May 2025 its hand baggage standards were aligned with the Group. On Economy and Premium Economy, you may carry a maximum of 10kg in total, made up of one main piece (max 10kg, max size 56 x 36 x 23cm) plus one personal accessory.
For checked baggage, Pacific operates as a low-cost carrier. Most fares do not include free checked baggage, so you buy what you need. On domestic routes operated by Vietnam Airlines and Pacific Airlines, a standard prepaid baggage piece is maximum 23kg, with total dimensions not exceeding 158cm. My honest advice: buy your baggage when you book the ticket. It is much cheaper than paying at the airport.
3. BAMBOO AIRWAYS
Hand baggage
- Economy class: one main piece and one small personal item, with a total maximum weight of 7kg. The main piece must not exceed 115cm (56 x 36 x 23cm).
- Business class: two main pieces and one small personal item, total maximum 14kg, with each main piece up to 7kg.
Checked baggage
- The free allowance depends on your fare class. On domestic flights, it is typically 20kg for Economy and 40kg for Business, and Economy Saver Max fares require you to pay for baggage.
- No single piece may exceed 32kg, or 203cm in combined dimensions. If your baggage exceeds the limits, you will need to repack it.
4. VIETJET AIR
Hand baggage
- You may bring one main bag plus one small bag, with a combined weight of no more than 7kg. Maximum size 56 x 36 x 23cm.
- A friendly warning from experience: Vietjet weighs cabin bags strictly at the gate. Stay within 7kg.
Checked baggage
- Vietjet’s allowance depends on the fare you buy. SkyBoss fares include 30kg, Deluxe fares include 20kg, and Eco fares do not include any free checked baggage.
- Each checked piece must not exceed 32kg in weight or 119 x 119 x 81cm in size.
- Pre-book your baggage online before departure. Buying at the airport costs significantly more.
A FEW PRACTICAL TIPS FROM US
- The 7kg cabin limit on Vietjet, Bamboo and Pacific is real. If you are connecting from an international flight with a heavier cabin bag, plan to check it.
- On budget carriers, baggage bought at booking is always cheaper than baggage bought at the airport.
- Power banks and spare lithium batteries must always go in your hand baggage, never in checked bags.
