1. Do Indian travelers need a visa to visit Phu Quoc Island?

No, not if they stay on the island only. Indian nationals can stay on Phu Quoc Island for up to 30 days without a visa. This applies to all nationalities, including Indian passport holders.

2. What are the conditions for the visa-free entry?

There are three conditions, and all must be met:

1. Arrive in Phu Quoc directly from an international destination, by air or sea. Direct flights or international transit only.
2. Stay on Phu Quoc Island for the entire trip.
3. Depart Vietnam from Phu Quoc as well.

Travelers should also carry a confirmed onward ticket showing departure within 30 days.

3. Once in Phu Quoc visa-free, can travelers continue to mainland Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, etc.)?

No. This is the most common misunderstanding, so let’s be clear: the visa-free entry is strictly limited to the island itself, and Indian nationals cannot travel to mainland Vietnam under this exemption. Phu Quoc is the start and end point. There is no “upgrade” on arrival.

4. What if the itinerary includes both Phu Quoc and mainland Vietnam?

Then a visa is needed for the whole trip. Anyone planning any travel to mainland Vietnam must hold a valid Vietnam visa, even if Phu Quoc Island is the main destination. The good news: the Vietnam e-Visa makes this simple.

5. What about flights connecting through Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to reach Phu Quoc?

This route needs a visa. Travelers cannot rely on the visa-free arrangement if their route takes them through another international airport in Vietnam or through a domestic transfer that requires immigration checks. In practice, if your client lands in Ho Chi Minh City and takes a domestic flight to Phu Quoc, they pass through Vietnamese immigration on the mainland, so the exemption does not apply. Transiting through international hubs outside Vietnam, such as Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur, without entering mainland Vietnam is fine.

6. How do Indian travelers get a Vietnam e-Visa?

Apply online at the official government portal (evisa.gov.vn). The e-Visa is available to all nationalities including Indians, is valid for up to 90 days, and comes in single-entry or multiple-entry options. It covers airports, land borders and seaports. We recommend applying at least 7 to 10 working days before departure.

Alternatively, we can help with regular evisa, urgent evisa service or push evisa service.

7. What happens if someone enters Phu Quoc visa-free and then tries to travel to the mainland anyway?

It is a serious problem. A traveler who enters under the island-only exemption and continues to the mainland without authorization faces the same immigration consequences as someone overstaying a visa. The Indian Embassy has warned this can trigger immigration issues, delays in medical access, and movement restrictions. Do not risk it.

8. Our recommendation as a local DMC

If there is any chance the itinerary touches the mainland, get the e-Visa from the start. It costs little, takes a few days, and removes all risk. Save the visa-free option for pure beach holidays where clients fly in and out of Phu Quoc directly.

Once your customers have landed in Phu Quoc without evisa and would like to apply for mainland visa, it costs a huge amount to get one, so get them to prepared in advance.

From 1 July 2026, all travelers entering, leaving, or transiting Vietnam must complete a health declaration within 7 days before travel, at all airports, land borders, and seaports. It is separate from the Digital Arrival Card, so clients arriving in Ho Chi Minh City will need both. The official online portal is not published yet; we will share the direct link and a simple guide with all partners as soon as it goes live.

Yes. Since 15 April 2026, all foreign travelers landing at Tan Son Nhat Airport (SGN) must complete a free online Digital Arrival Card before arrival and show the QR code at immigration. This is required even with a valid e-visa; it is an extra step, not a replacement. It currently applies only to Ho Chi Minh City, not Hanoi or Da Nang. AAT includes the official link and instructions in every pre-departure document, so your clients arrive prepared.

Yes, we offer a Rush/Urgent e-visa service for Indian travelers to Vietnam. Depending on how urgently you need it, we can obtain your e-visa in 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 1 day, or 2 days. The fee is quoted at the time of booking.

To process the urgent e-visa, we need a copy of your passport and 1 personal photo of the customer.

Final payments are due 30 days prior to your travel date. Your e-mail confirmation and the invoice you will receive in the mail will indicate the actual final payment date for your trip. We will contact you prior to the final payment date as a reminder. Regardless of booking made within 30 days, full payment shall be required.

Most our tour packages include airport pick up service but few don’t, so please check if your airport transfer included or not on our services voucher or confirmation file with your travel specialist

In our Confirmation file, you will find details with two hotlines of our operation team. In the meantime, we often create WhatsApp group 1-2 days prior to arrival with our operation team, our sales person and your company (or with your guests) to support throughout to make sure all will run smoothly.

As soon as accepting to book the services with us, you have to pay the deposit for the services. In the mean time, we’ll make provisional reservation for you. Once we received your deposit notification, we’ll make firm reservation for your services straightaway – this mean your reservation is firmly confirmed with a confirmation file.

When all of the services are reserved successfully, we will update to you and send you other useful information such as travel guide, travel tips,…

If the services were fully booked (maybe booked by someone else while booking is under processed because some tour operators don’t allow blocking policy), we will inform you and suggest similar options. In case you no longer want to book these alternatives, we will refund all of the deposit amount.

In case your tours (services) cancel due to poor weather or unavailable services. It’ll be…

• Full refund applied if the tour is canceled before departure.
• Partly refund for un-used service(s) if the tour is canceled after departure.
• Cost will be calculated and informed right at the time of cancellation notice.

Generally, solo travelers having very safe environmental in Vietnam. At the time of writing, we have not heard any reports on harassment problem or anything like that in Vietnam. And you will surely discover that Vietnamese are very welcoming, warm hearted and helpful.

The deposit is required to guarantee your reservation (tours, hotels, transfer, …etc). After received your deposit, we’re going to reserve the services for you. So the deposit is required to secure your booking.

Normally, 20% of total cost will be required for deposit at the time of booking.

For some urgent cases or type of promotion or booking of luxurious hotel, cruise boats, we might require full payment at the time of booking.

Tipping for your guide and driver is compulsory on all our tours. It is a standard part of travel in Vietnam and across Southeast Asia, and it forms an important part of our team’s income.

To keep things simple and fair, we apply a fixed rate based on your group size:

1. Group of 2 to 5 pax: US$5 per person, per day in total
2. Group of 6 to 9 pax: US$4 per person, per day in total
3. Group of 10 pax and above: US$3 per person, per day in total
4. Group of 30 pax and above: US$2 per person, per day in total

You have two ways to handle this:

1. Pay in cash during the tour. Hand it directly to your guide and driver at the end of each day or at the end of the trip. No extra cost.
2. Prepay with your booking. We can include tipping in your invoice at the time of booking. Please note a 10% tax fee applies to this option, as it goes through our company accounts.

Beyond these standard tips, any extra amount for exceptional service is entirely your choice. Our team will never ask, but they will always appreciate it.

To apply for a visa to Vietnam, your passport must have at least 6 month’s validity. Therefore, if your passport is about to expire, please get a new one before applying for your visa in order to avoid unwanted problems at the airport.

Send your personal information for making payment link (if you pay by credit card) and over night registration if you book Halong Bay and Mekong River Cruises. We’ll send you travel registration form with information as bellow:

*Expiry date of Vietnam entry visa (If the nationality holder does not need to apply for the visa, entry date and exit date are required)

Step 3: Payment
After you agree on what tours/ services to take, we’ll send you invoice and payment instruction for you to choose methods of payment (https://absoluteasiatravel.com/term-condition.html) then 20% deposit (if your departing date is more than 30 days from your booking date) and full payment (if your departing date is less than 30 days from your booking date).

After your money credit into our bank account (normally 2 – 5 working days) we’ll send you receipt/ confirmation file.

Your booking will be completed then and you can check the booking status directly with our suppliers if you would like!

All credit card refunds will be processed in a timely manner. The refunds processing depends on your billing cycle with the credit card company. Once the refund instructions leave our office it can take from 12-30 working days for the proceeds to arrive in your account.

Please note that the refunds will be made in the form of a credit to your card account.

Payment portal system of OnePAY is trusted by big banks in the world such as ANZ, HSBC AND ICICI. OnePAY payment portal meets standards of international financial system such as PCI DSS of PCI Security Standards Council, 3D-Secure of Visa, MasterCard and JCB. Yes. Photography in or near military installations, airports or similar locations is prohibited. Anyone caught doing so will have the film, and possibly the camera or camcorder, confiscated and may be arrested.

Yes. However, exporting an artifact with cultural significance requires an official license. Without a license, anything old is liable to be confiscated at the airport.

No, you don’t if you travel to popular cities in Vietnam. However, it is advisable that precautionary measures be taken against cholera, malaria, hepatitis A & B, typhoid and tuberculosis.

Is it safe to go out late in Vietnam? Vietnam is a pretty safe place, but going out late is not a good idea, especially alone. Though serious crime against foreigners is rare, pick-pocketing and purse-snatching has increased in recent years. Like any where else, it is always wise to be cautious especially when you are in a crowded place. Is it safe to go out late in Vietnam?

Vietnam is known as one of the safest vacation destination of the World with very low of crime. However, we still recommend our clients to be careful with their own properties by putting their important paper and valuable items in hotel safety boxes, going out with limited amount of cash and jewelry wares to prevent from being snatched or pick-pocketed in the busy or quiet streets. That happens sometimes in the big cities.

Children under 11 years old may enjoy discounts in accommodation, air tickets and meals. As the discount rate for kids varies from hotels, restaurants and airline companies, you are advised to provide us with detailed information about number of kids traveling and their ages to get the exact discounts applied.

There are a few possibilities:

Make sure you are not using a proxy internet connection. A direct connection to internet is required for security purpose.

Make sure the input details are correct.

Make sure the card expiration date does not precede the reservation date.

We provides visitors with tours to Central Vietnam year round but December to March is the best time to visit the Central Highlands when conditions are usually dry and cool. We visited the region in late November when the weather was beautiful with fine, warm days and pleasant evenings. We had a few light showers as we headed north towards Hoi An. Along the central coast there is a rainy season from December to February. June to October tends to be very dry and hot.

We provides visitors with tours to North of Vietnam year round but the best time to visit here is from October to April next year when it isn’t so humid. The weather turns quite cold and wet in January and this continues until March. The humidity can prove oppressive from May to the early September and there’s possibility of typhoon.

We provides visitors with tours to South of Vietnam year round but December to April is the best time to visit the south of Vietnam. There are short downpours during the wet season from May to November but they tend to only last a short time so you can still enjoy a visit during these months (just go for lunch when you see the black clouds developing). The Mekong Delta can experience few flooding during this period

Yes, you can enter or exit Vietnam with e-visa if you travel by waterway from Phnom Penh to Chau Doc or vice versa.

Vĩnh Xương (Tan Chau, An Giang Province) is the location of an international border crossing with Cambodia, with the official name Sông Tiền. Its counterpart across the border is Khaorm Sam Nor Kaoh Roka border gate, Kandal Province, Cambodia. Besides conventional Vietnamese visas, this border crossing is also listed as a Vietnamese Evisa entry/exit point for foreigners.

Please list Song Tien Landport as your port of entry/exit. Kindly note that Song Tien landport is only valid for entry by river (via one of following cruises/ speed boats: BlueCruiser, Victoria Speedboat, Hang Chau Tourist Express, Jahan ship, AquaExpeditions, Mekong River Cruise, Jayavarman, AmaCruises)

This is one of, if not, the quickest and cheapest way to get your visa for Vietnam. You just need to fill in our “Online Application Form”, pay the service fee, get your “Visa approval letter” within 2 working days and pick up your visa at your arrival airport (Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, Danang airport in Danang, Cam Ranh airport in Nha Trang, Phu Quoc airport on Phu Quoc Island)

After we obtain the approval letter for you, we will forward you a copy by email. Yes, you can enter later than the granted arrival date in visa approval letter providing that you exit by granted exit date.

Visa on arrival works at any of following international airports in Vietnam: Tan Son Nhat (in Ho Chi Minh City); Noi Bai (in Hanoi) Da Nang (in Da Nang City), Cam Ranh (in Nha Trang), Phu Quoc in Phu Quoc Island. There is no problem with switching between these airports.

No, you can not. You need to enter Vietnam WITHIN approval dates as mentioned in your visa approval letter.

Nationals of certain countries may visit Vietnam without visa for a period of time, hereunder is the list of countries and regions that have Visa Waiver arrangements with Vietnam.

Normally, the approval letter is processed within two (2) business days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and National Holidays). In urgent cases, your visa request can be processed within 4-8 working hours (excluding weekends and weekday evenings).

Notes: all applications must be submitted before 8:00 AM Vietnam time to have it finished by noon time at the earliest and 5:00 PM by the latest. All applications submitted after 2:00 PM will be held until the following business day.

Upon arrival at the international airport, expect to fill in a simple form to fill in. Please remember to bring at least 2 passport-sized photos(04*06cm), 25 USD/person for stamp fee per person (1 month single) and 50 USD for the multiple entry. You can expect the process to take about 15 minutes-30 minutes in total.

Special Notes: Normally, it takes 15-30 minutes to get the visa stamp at Vietnam airport, however, sometimes it takes much longer (1.5-2hrs) due to the large number of arrivals.

Please keep in mind the following notes to save your time:
– Once you land, rush out as soon as possible to be the first come first serve
– Prepare all the required documents before you arrive (photos, on arrival forms) and exact amount that you need to pay for visa stamp fee in USD.

Single entry visa: You are permitted to enter Vietnam ONCE during your visa validity. If you would like to re-enter you need to apply for multiple entry visa.

Multiple entry visa: You can enter and exit Vietnam many times as you want during your visa validity.

A colored scanned copy of the approval letter will be sent to you by email, so please make sure that you have provided us with the correct email address.

Note: the approval letter is in PDF format, so please make sure you have the latest version of AdobeAcrobat reader in order to open the file.

Yes, you do. However, photos are required upon arrival Vietnam’s airports only, so please remember to bring at least 2 photos of standard passport size (04×06 cm). 

Note: If you do not have time to prepare those photos before your departure, you can also get them taken at a Vietnamese airport for USD 5 or less per photo.

A Vietnamese visa application/evisa application can be applied for 1 day to 6 months in advance. Although it takes only 3 working days to get your evisa approved, it is strongly advised that you apply for a Vietnamese visa 2 weeks before your arrival date to avoid any payment or other administrative problems.

Step 3: Our representative will collect your visa approval letter, passport, 2 passport size photos (4x6cm) and Entry & Exit form and stamping fee (US$25/ person for single entry, and US$50/ person for multiple entry one month visa) for doing your entry procedure. She/ he will do all necessary procedures until your visa gets stamped (5-10 min. only).

Step 4: Get your passport back with the Vietnam Visa stamped from our representative.

Refund policy 48 working hours: Please confirm with us your flight details at least 48 working hours in advance so that we can arrange assistant service for you smoothly. In case we don’t have the correct flight number and arrival time, no refund will be done if you are not picked up at the airport.

Nha Trang

I suggest you travel to Mui Ne, which is about 200 km (a 5-hour drive) to the northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. It is one of the most popular beach resorts in central Vietnam, with huge rolling dunes at the end of an 18 km white sand beach. There is a good range of hotels on the beach, some offering accommodation in bamboo villas and bungalows, and plenty of restaurants along the beach road, a mixture of Vietnamese and international.

Apart from Mui Ne, Phu Quoc and Nha Trang are also excellent destinations for Indian travelers.

Phu Quoc is Vietnam’s largest island, a short 1-hour flight from Ho Chi Minh City. It offers white sand beaches, calm seas, island-hopping by speedboat, the world’s longest oversea cable car to Hon Thom Island, plus family attractions such as VinWonders theme park, Vinpearl Safari and Grand World. There is a wide choice of beachfront resorts, and Indian restaurants are available on the island.

Nha Trang is Vietnam’s most famous coastal city, with a beautiful 6 km city beach, nearby islands for snorkeling and diving, mud baths and hot springs, and the VinWonders entertainment complex on Hon Tre Island. It is well connected by direct flights and offers everything from city hotels to luxury island resorts.

We run modern, air-conditioned cars, minibuses and coaches across all our tours in Vietnam. Every vehicle carries a cooler with chilled drinking water, and our drivers are selected for safe driving and strong local road knowledge. As a working rule, we assign a vehicle one size larger than the group needs, so your clients always travel with room to spare.

One important note before the numbers: on smaller vehicles, the local guide always sits in the front passenger seat. So the real question is never “how many seats”, it is “how many guests plus luggage plus guide”. The table below answers exactly that.

Capacity by Vehicle Type

4-seater sedan (Toyota Vios / Altis class)
For 1 to 2 guests with luggage. Guide sits up front, guests in the rear, and the boot takes 1 to 2 large bags maximum. Our standard car for couples, solo travelers and airport transfers.

7-seater MPV / SUV (Toyota Innova / Fortuner class)
For 2 to 3 guests with luggage. The last row of seats is normally folded down for bags. A comfortable choice for couples with extra luggage or a small family.

9-seater van
For 5 to 6 guests with luggage when a guide travels along. Honest note: this van gets tight with large Indian suitcases, so if your group packs heavy, we recommend the 16-seater instead.

16-seater minivan (Ford Transit class)
Our most flexible vehicle, ideal for 4 to 8 guests with full luggage. Overhead racks plus rear storage. This is the workhorse for family groups, and we also use it as the support vehicle on cycling tours.

29-seater coach (Hyundai County class)
For 9 to 15 guests with luggage. Undercarriage storage, with the guide seated next to the driver.

35-seater coach
For 16 to 22 guests with luggage. A good fit for large family groups and wedding parties.

45-seater coach
For 23 to 40 guests with luggage. The largest storage in our fleet, with room for both a local guide and your accompanying tour leader.

Luggage Baseline

Plan on this allowance per adult traveler:

1. One large check-in bag, around 76×48 cm (the 78x50x30 cm size, roughly 32 kg, is the most common with Indian groups)
2. One cabin bag, 55x40x20 cm, around 7 kg

For sedans and MPVs, the safe working rule is one large suitcase per occupied seat.

If the Group Exceeds the Baggage Allowance

If clients travel with more than the baseline allowance, we reserve the right to add a second van or a luggage truck at a supplement. This charge is settled by the booking agency or directly by the clients. We do this for one reason only: nobody enjoys a 4-hour drive with a suitcase on their lap.

It means Run of House. Normally, the room of lowest category is considered as ROH. For example, Standard and Superior room.

Single room is a room with a single bed for 1 person only. In Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, we often use a Double room or a Twin room for sole use as true single room is not available in Southeast Asia.

Double Room: a room with a large bed ideally for a couple.

Twin Room is a room with a pair of single beds for 2 persons. Some five-star hotels might offer 2 queen-sized beds or king-sized bed.

Triple room can be a twin or double room with an extra bed.

For people with wheelchairs, we will need some very special care, especially with transportation, as well as at some sites with tough grounds. Normally a private transport is arranged and a porter at some sites is needed.  Please contact our consultants to have had some experience in these cases.

No, you cannot. In order to board the plane, you must show the approval letter to the airlines. This letter is also compulsory in order for you to get the visa at the Vietnam airport. Therefore, we recommend that you leave plenty of time to apply for the visa to avoid having to delay or change your flight.

Once the official payment has been made, changes in tour details should be requested via email (info@absoluteasiatravel.com or email of the staff processing your booking), and is subject to a surcharge of hotels and restaurants (depending on each case). Possibility of reservation amendments is also subject to service availability of our suppliers (hotels, restaurants and other)

For shared rooms with their parents, normally a child under 4 years old is free of charge. If an extra bed for your child is needed it would result in some additional costs.  We recommend you to arrange a private tour just for your family, thus giving you and your family more room and comfort during van transportation and flexibility in your tour itinerary.  It is the best to consult with your doctors before you bring your newborns or infants traveling to Vietnam.  Before traveling, please talk with our consultants to figure out how you will manage all the baby gear at all the sites.
